Divya Gupta Kotawala: From next door daughter to an Amazon best seller author
New Delhi: Divya Gupta Kotawala is a multifaceted Delhiite who wears several hats …she is a student of prestigious institutes Modern school, St. Stephens college, and NIFT Delhi.
For her, life changed three years ago after losing her father to Covid. Unable to deal with her grief, writing became a way to heal and celebrate her dear dad’s life.
After her first successful book, “My Dad’s Daughter”, which became an Amazon top 7 bestseller, Divya recently launched her first anthology, “Stories of Courage”. This book talks about how 12 strong people transformed their biggest pain into their biggest strength and moved ahead in life with a positive approach.
Divya believes this book can help many like her heal and understand that grief and pain can take many forms, but can never be escaped. However, if handled well, one can emerge as the best version of themselves and learn to live a happy life once again.
Divya has won several awards for her work, including recognition from Femina, Literature Today, Hindustan Times, Outlook, Times of India, Pioneer, and Midday. She has also been featured on platforms like Humans of Bombay, SheThePeople, We The Humans, KettoIndia, and Miss Malini.
Recently, Divya was invited as the Guest of Honour at The Great Indian Kids Festival, held at Indira Gandhi Stadium on 17th November 2024. She was facilitated and also handed over trophies to many successful preschools in Delhi.
Apart from her awards and recognitions, Divya finds peace in her social work, which gives her a sense of purpose every day. She follows a spiritual path that guides her through challenging situations.
As a proud TEDx speaker, Divya spoke about the theme “Together Towards Tomorrow” and was applauded by a live audience. Her talk is now live on the official TEDx YouTube channel.
Divya is also a successful entrepreneur who wants to take her passion for podcasting forward. She is looking for opportunities to grow and learn every day, continuing her father’s legacy and making him proud.
Divya strongly believes that life is precious, and we should value our bonds with our parents, never missing a moment to celebrate them and have gratitude for what life has blessed us with. She believes in doing good karma, as she feels that what we give is what we always get back from the Universe.
